Sandra Maischberger Q&A: Sandra Maischberger was born 1966 in Munich. Before, during and after her apprenticeship at the School for Journalists in Munich 1987, she worked at the radioprogram of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. Her work at TV-channels started in 1988 at the privat Broadcasting Station Tele5. She was involved in shows like Live aus dem Schlachthof (BR), Talk im Turm (Sat.1), 0137 (Premiere) und Spiegel TV Interview (VOX). In the years 2000-2006 Sandra Maischberger presented the TV-show maischberger on n-tv which was awarded multiple times. Since 2003 she presents Menschen bei Maischberger (ARD), since 2016 called maischberger. Maischberger also produces documentaries since the mid-90th. In cooperation with her husband Jan Kerhart she developed for example Helmut Schmidt außer Dienst, for which she achieved the Golden Camera award of the German TV. Milena Trobozic Garfield Q&A: Milena Trobozic Garfield is a film and theater producer. She is
the founder and creative director of West End Productions in Serbia.
Although she started her career as an actress, she soon became
more interested in creating and producing theater and film repertoire. Milena Garfield has produced several films, including White White World which won dozens of international film awards and was a candidate for the European Academy EFA Award in 2011. Her recent film Šavovi – Stitches won an audience award at Panorama section and the Label Europa Cinemas award at the Berlinale 2019. Besides, the same movie received further international film awards at seven other filmfestivals. Her first book “This American Wife” is a collection of her texts published in different media in the region. In it she describes her life in America, as viewed from an outsider, talking about feminism, modern romance, public solitude, American art, culture and media. |

Eva Spreitzhofer Q&A: Eva Spreitzhofer was born in 1967 in Graz, Austria. From 1987 until 1990 she studied at the Acting School of Volkstheater Vienna. Since then she has acted in numerous Films, TV and theater productions. In 2000 she won the script competition of the ORF in the category Best TV Film with her very first script Tigermännchen sucht Tigerweibchen. This was produced by team-Worx, one of the leading TV production companies for the German and Austrian Public TV-Channels ARD and ORF. Eva Spreitzhofer has written numerous other scripts, among them King Otto (König Otto) and the miniseries Zodiak for ORF and SAT 1, as well as for the ARD TV films Two Weeks for Us (Zwei Wochen für uns) and Today my Husband is Getting Married (Heute meiratet mein Mann). She is creator of the successful TV series Fast Forward (Schnell Ermittelt) which was sold in 40 countries. In 2015 at the film festival „Diagonale“ she presented her first documentary film Among Blind People (Unter Blinden) where she directed and also wrote the script. Ella Antoni Q&A: Ella Antoni (born in Hamburg, 1989) is living in Schleswig-Holstein

in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies with a Master of

Simon Häggström Panel Conversation: Simon Häggström is a police detective specialized on prostitution and human trafficking at the Department of National Operations (formerly the National Crime Agency) in Sweden. After graduating from the Stockholm Police Academy he worked as a narcotics officer in central Stockholm, but has focused on the sex trade since 2009. Simon is a well-known contributor to the public debate and a sought-after lecturer on the subject of prostitution and human trafficking, in Sweden as well as abroad. He has published the books Shadow’s Law - The True Story of a Swedish Detective Inspector Fighting Prostitution (2016) and Night City (2017) about the work he and his colleagues do in their fight against sexbuying in Sweden. Together with his colleague from Augsburg, Chief Inspector Sporer, Häggström served as an expert at the European Parliament in the hearings about prostitution. As a result of these hearings, already in 2014 the E.P. passed a resolution that calls for all the countries of the E.U. to implement the Nordic Model. This Model defines buying sex services as criminal offence and offers exit strategies for women who want to get out of it. Helmut Sporer Panel Conversation: Helmut Sporer has been Director of the Special Commission of the Criminal Police Investigation Office in Augsburg responsible for human trafficking. With the “Augsburger Weg” (The Augsburg Way) he summarizes the concept used by the Augsburg Criminal Police: “Prostitution – Human Dignity and Self-Determination as Central Criteria for New Regulations”. It is his opinion that German laws were made flexible so that prostitutes could work with self-determination. But the opposite is the case. Sporer is convinced that “brothel bosses, pimps, and human traffickers have profited from the law, only 5-10% of the prostitutes work of their own free will, around 90% of them work under coercion or only appear to be willing... Prostitution is not a job like any other and therefore should not be under the jurisdiction of commercial law. Prostitution has always been accompanied by highly criminal circumstances and that will never change.” Commissioner Sporer gave a position statement in the German Bundestag about drafting a law for combating human trafficking and for monitoring places of prostitution. Together with his colleague from Augsburg, Detective Inspector Häggström, Sporer served as an expert at the European Parliament in the hearings about prostitution. Inge Bell Panel Conversation: Flag Raising Ceremony for the “International Day for
the Elimination of Violence against Women” As former ARD (State TV Channel) Foreign Correspondant for long years Inge Bell has declared as her motto: First Human then journalist. She reported about the political, economical and social development in South East Europe, especially about Organized Crime and Corruption – and has been uncovering severe Human Rights Violations in investigative reports. Since 2000 she initiated humanitarian aid projects in the Balkans, some of which she accompanies actively until today. She also lectures and gives workshops about her journalistic and humanitarian topics as human trafficking, violence against women and abuse of handicapped people. From 2005 on she is writing books about human rights topics. Since 2014 she is doing her PHD at the Munich University with a focus on Human Trafficking. In 2007 Inge Bell received the „Frau Europas“ („Woman of Europe“) award due to her volunteer work far beyond her profession. 2012 the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Gauck bestowed on her the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon. Marie Kaltenbach Conversation: Querfeldein with #ichbinkeinfreier and Sisters
e.V. Marie Kaltenbach has grown up near Freiburg, Germany. Since 2014 she lives in Tübingen, first studying Sociology and Political Science. In 2018 she began with her Master Studies in Pedagogy, also in Tübingen. In the year 2017 Marie Kaltenbach was one of the founders of „Sisters – for the exit from prostitution“ e.V. in Tübingen/Reutlingen. Her organisation helps women and girls get out of prostitution and contribute to a change in society’s awareness about the destructive consequences of prostitution. She is active in Tübingen in different fields of feminist engagement, a.o. in the Women’s Network 8th of March Tübingen, and in the Working Group of Social Democratic Women ASF. At the recent Congress of the Social Democratic Party, which ended with a decision to back the proposed „Nordic Model“ to end prostitution, Marie delivered a speech pro ban of buying sex, which received utmost attention. |

Gisela Schneider Q&A: Dr. med Gisela Schneider is working as a doctor specialized in tropical
medicine and public health and is leading the German Institute for
Medical Mission in Tübingen (Difäm e.V.). As director of
Difäm in Tübingen she is working especially with local
partners in Africa and Asia to improve the healthcare system there.
That includes establishing healthcare centres, improving the medical
supply and the education of qualified professionals. The focus lies
on prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis
and other infectious diseases as well as non-viral and chronic diseases
like cancer and diabetes or psychological diseases. The objective
is to provide access to health for every human, and especially for
disadvantaged people in neglected regions and countries like the
Congo, Kenya, Malawi, or the Chad. |
